Urgent — Read First

When to call an emergency electrician.

Electrical emergencies don’t wait for business hours. If any of the below is happening right now, isolate the hazard where you can safely do so and call us immediately — we’ll talk you through it until we arrive.

Power outage

A full or partial loss of power when neighbours still have supply usually means a fault on your side — a tripped main, failed switchboard component, or damaged service line.

Before we arrive

Switch off the main at the meter box. Unplug sensitive equipment so it’s not hit by a surge when power returns.

Burning smell & sparks

A hot plastic smell, visible sparking at a powerpoint, or scorch marks around a switch mean a live fault. Fire risk is immediate.

Before we arrive

Isolate at the main switch. Do not touch the outlet. Keep family and pets clear of the area. Call us — we’re dispatched.

Switchboard faulting

Repeatedly tripping safety switches, humming or clicking from the meter box, or an RCD that won’t reset — your board is trying to tell you something. If trips keep returning after reset, a switchboard upgrade may be needed.

Before we arrive

Don’t keep resetting a tripping RCD. Switch off the main, note which circuit was last on, and wait for the electrician.

Storm damage / fallen lines

Wind damage to service cables, water ingress into the meter box, or a tree down on the line to the house. Anything touching water or a fallen cable is live until proven otherwise. For network-wide outages, check Ausgrid outages.

Before we arrive

Stay at least 10 metres from fallen lines. Do not approach wet switchboards. Keep everyone inside and away from water — call us immediately.

What We Fix

Emergency electrical, and the work beyond it.

Every van carries the parts and testing gear for the common emergency calls — plus the Level 2 ASP credentials to handle network-side work, temporary construction supply, and full mains upgrades. No second callout, no second contractor.

01

Switchboard & fuse repair

Failing MCBs, overheated bus bars, and obsolete ceramic fuses. The board is the spine — if it’s faulting, the whole property is compromised.

What we do: isolate, test under load, replace failed components, and issue a CCEW if required.

02

Power restoration

Partial or total power loss with neighbours unaffected — typically a tripped main, service line fault, or a failed meter.

What we do: trace the fault from main to branch, restore supply, and document the cause.

03

Safety switch (RCD) faults

An RCD that trips repeatedly is doing its job — there’s earth leakage somewhere. Nuisance tripping is a symptom, not the problem.

What we do: clamp-meter each circuit, isolate the leaking one, and make safe or repair.

04

Storm & water damage

Water in the meter box, a tree through the service line, roof leaks onto wiring. Anything wet and live stays a danger until tested.

What we do: make the site safe, liaise with the network, replace damaged assets, reinstate supply.

05

Burning smells & sparking

Scorched outlets, acrid plastic smell, visible arcing at a switch. This is pre-fire — never re-energise the circuit.

What we do: isolate, open up and inspect, replace the failed accessory or cabling, compliance test.

06

Emergency lighting

Exit signs dark, battery-backed fittings failing the 90-minute test, or a venue losing lighting mid-service. Compliance and safety at once.

What we do: restore the lighting, replace the failed unit, re-test and log to AS 2293.

07
LEVEL 2

Temporary power for construction

Builder’s temporary supply (BTS), site sheds, tower cranes, compound lighting. Level 2 ASP install from the network, metered and compliant from day one.

What we do: design, apply to the DNSP, install the temp pole/pillar, connect, and hand over with CCEW.

08
LEVEL 2

Service & consumer mains upgrade

Undersized mains tripping at load, old VIR/paper-lead cabling, or a supply upgrade for EV chargers, ducted air, or a granny flat. Network-side work we can finish ourselves.

What we do: size the new mains to AS/NZS 3008, replace service & consumer mains, upgrade the point of attachment. Handled by a NSW Level 2 ASP.

09
LEVEL 2

Underground service & upgrade

New underground service from the pole or pit, pillar relocation, or upgrading overhead to underground (UGOH). Safer, tidier, and future-proof for renos and strata.

What we do: excavate to DNSP spec, install conduit & cable, terminate, witness-test, and commission. Covers residential and commercial / strata sites.

How a Callout Runs

From your call to a safe, certified fix.

01

You call.

Our on-call dispatcher answers around the clock. Tell us what’s happening — we’ll talk you through making the site safe while the van is on its way.

02

We dispatch.

The nearest Level 2 licensed electrician is assigned. You’ll get the tradie’s name, ETA, and a live update if anything changes.

03

Diagnose & make safe.

On arrival, we isolate the hazard, test for live leakage, and find the cause. You’ll see what we found and get a fixed-price quote before any repair starts.

04

Fix or isolate, then certify.

We repair on the spot where we can, or make-safe and schedule the full repair. Every job ends with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW).

FAQ

Common questions,
answered straight.

If what you need isn’t here, the fastest path is the hero form — we’ll call you back within minutes.

Our average on-site response across greater Sydney metro is around 60 minutes, 24 hours a day. Inner Sydney and the Inner West typically see us faster; further-out regions (Hornsby, outer Hills, Sutherland) can take a little longer depending on traffic and the current on-call load. When you submit the hero form, the dispatcher will give you a specific ETA within minutes.

Anything where there’s an immediate safety risk, or where being without power is a serious problem: burning smells, sparking outlets, a repeatedly tripping safety switch, a full power outage when your street still has supply, storm damage to the meter box, fallen service cables, or loss of essential systems (cold rooms, medical equipment, sump pumps). If you’re not sure whether it qualifies, call — we’ll triage with you.

We don’t apply a surprise after-hours or weekend surcharge on the invoice. Every job gets an upfront, fixed-price quote before any repair work starts. Call-out and diagnostic fees are flat regardless of time of day. If the fault needs ongoing work, we’ll price the full repair separately so there are no surprises.

Yes — there’s a standard attendance fee that covers the diagnostic, testing, and make-safe work on arrival. The dispatcher will confirm the fee with you before the van leaves, so there’s nothing unexpected. If you proceed with the repair at the same visit, the call-out fee rolls into the fixed-price quote.

Yes. Storm damage is one of our most common callouts — damaged service lines, water ingress at the meter box, wind-torn conduits, tree impact, and flooding around the switchboard. We’re Level 2 ASP accredited, which means we can work on the supply line between the pole and your meter — most electricians can’t.

Yes. Level 2 ASP accreditation means we’re authorised to work on the service line between the network and your property, which most electricians can’t. For storm damage, service upgrades, meter changes, and anything involving the overhead or underground supply, you need a Level 2 team — and that’s us.

All of greater Sydney metro — Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Northern Beaches, CBD, Hills District, Sutherland Shire, Parramatta, and out to Blacktown. If you’re inside the Sydney metro area, we’ll get to you. Outside the metro, call anyway and the dispatcher will advise whether we can cover it or refer you. Browse all our electrical services.

Yes — dedicated experience on both. For commercial, we respond to three-phase switchboard faults, emergency lighting, data centre UPS failures, cold-room outages, and refrigeration circuits. For strata, we handle common-area switchboards, meter-room faults, lift-power issues, and individual unit emergencies. Insurance work and strata-manager paperwork supported.
